Do I need any prior martial-arts or fitness background? No our classes are designed for total beginners. We start with basic movement drills (shrimping, bridging, break-falls) and build upward at your pace.
-
How old do I need to be?- Currently, a Kids Fundamentals Crash Course is running from August 8 to August 21.
-
What should I wear to my first class?Comfortable workout clothes (t-shirt & track pants) are fine for your trial. Once you enroll, you can train in a proper BJJ gi (we’ll guide you on brands and fit).
-
Is this program focused on competition or street self-defense?100% self-defense. While the art of BJJ includes sport, our core curriculum (Phase 1) teaches you real-world defences against strikes, grabs, even bites and the mindset to avoid or de-escalate threats.
-
What are my two learning phases?Phase 1: Survival (8–12 weeks), covering the 3D’s (Distance, Domination, De-escalation) and stress-inoculation drills. Phase 2: Strategy & Play, where you apply fundamentals in flow-rolling and tactical sparring, sharpening both mind and body.
-
Will I learn to defend against strikes?Yes. We integrate simple strike-defense blocking, framing, clinch-entry—before moving to ground fundamentals. You learn to manage space and control an attacker safely.
-
What is the “Triple-I Method”?Introduce: We demonstrate a technique step by step. Isolate: You drill key components in controlled repetitions. Integrate: You apply it under light resistance, then full flow-rolling.
-
How do you accommodate different fitness levels?Drills and sparring are scalable. Everyone works the same technique, but partners adjust resistance, and we offer regressions (modifications) or progressions as needed.
-
How quickly will I see results? Most students feel more confident and coordinated within 4–6 weeks. By 5 months you’ll have a solid self-defense toolbox and a clear roadmap for continued improvement.
-
What is “stress-inoculation” training?Through controlled pressure-testing (light resistance, timed drills) and breath-control exercises, you learn to remain calm and make clear decisions when adrenaline spikes.
-
How do you keep classes safe and injury-free?Small Class Sizes (4–12) for personal attention Graduated Intensity: we push you, but never to injury Clear Technique Protocol: no random rolling; every drill has purpose Constant Supervision by certified instructors
-
I’m worried about getting hurt, how do you address that?We train for longevity. You’ll learn proper body mechanics, break-falls, and safety signals; we stop any drill at the first sign of discomfort.
